A word from Killian
I’ve been honoured to work, become friends with and learn from some wonderful people in my time in the industry. I have learnt serving my clients is a two way process, based on integrity, authenticity and trust.
Direct and practical advice, delivered with honesty and experience, to help guide, protect and advocate for clients, is at the core of Martello Advisory.
A wealth of knowledge & understanding
Killian Buckley is an investment management industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience. With an original background in corporate finance and listing work, Killian joined the regulatory consulting boutique start up Kinetic Partners as an equity partner in 2005, establishing the Irish office that year. Killian along with his colleagues grew Kinetic to a staff of 200 in 10 countries. Following the purchase of Kinetic by Duff & Phelps in 2015, Killian acted as a Managing Director in the Compliance and Regulatory Consulting unit, as well as Head of Management Company Solutions, responsible for the global ManCo services out of Ireland and Luxembourg.
Killian has been privileged to act as Director, Designated Person and MLRO for some of the top investment management firms globally.
Killian also maintains a keen interest in helping those less fortunate and sits on the fundraising committee of basis.point, the funds industry charitable initiative.

The investment management industry is going through an unparalled period of change. Political uncertainty, regulatory scrutiny, technological disruption, and a dynamic commercial environment has meant that the relationship between managers, investors, and industry stake holders is ever more complex.
Martello Advisory seeks to make sense of this, to provide clarity and insight from a practical perspective. We look to navigate our clients through these challenges and focus on the opportunities they create.
Protect
With this dynamic uncertain environment comes the potential for significant loss, both economic and reputational. We focus on protecting value above all else. We are hugely aware that both internal strategic decisions, as well as external factors, can impact the health and prospects of an investment manager. We look to pro-actively assist in this decision-making process, creating sustainable solutions for our clients and the wider industry.
Advocate
Above all else, we are sensitive to our fiduciary responsibilities as Directors of businesses to our shareholders and investors, and increasingly the broader community. Equally we consider ourselves as partners of our clients, promoting their best interests. But we go further and view ourselves as advocates for the entire investment management industry, be it investment managers, investors or other intermediaries. We believe in the potential of this industry to do enormous good, both through its direct activities and through its charitable endeavours.
Our name and logo explained
Killian Buckley grew up on the south county Dublin coast of Ireland. As well as being one of the most beautiful spots for a swim in the country, the coast is famous for its Martello towers, In the early 19th century, war was raging between Napoleon’s France and England.
Fearing that Ireland was under threat of French invasion, the Martello towers were built as defensive structures, to protect the coastline and guide sailors. 26 towers were built from Balbriggan to Bray along Dublin Bay. These towers have inspired the Martello Advisory name and its core aims.
